I received the following message from Ryan Gibson following the recent “Tweet-up” in Greenside:
I think there was a nice time had by all at the last tweet-up, there was around 50 people in the new Cafe Sofia location. Cafe Sofia was very generous with the food platters and whisky, I would have to admit as the organizer it has been the most affordable tweet-up on our end due to the participation of the venue… So thank you to Martin.
There is a new tweet-up in Pretoria on the horizon, they are hosted at http://twtvite.com/theonlyptatweetup/ which seems to be the only Pretoria Tweet-up in May… hopefully if any of our members here want to host future tweet-ups, let me know and I can post it within this system on our meetup page as well. It is the annual (and infamous) Pirates Hockey Trivia evening at Pirates Sports Club in Greenside.
This is normally an absolute ball and newcomers are welcome to attend. If you can’t make up a full table we’ll be happy to introduce to some of the other people and match you up.
Please RSVP via Facebook or drop me an e-mail (marc@rival.co.za) confirming your attendance / table names.
The drinks are cheap and there are some great opportunities to mingle with a variety of different people.
I’ll confirm how much it is per player but it is normally around R40 per person or book a table of 6 for R240.
Don’t be strangers – let’s sell this out and raise some funds for Pirates Hockey this year.
When: 28 May 2010
Where: Pirates Sports Club, Greenside, Gauteng
Dress code: Casual
Proceedings should kick off about 6:30 but there will be drinks specials running from 6.

Armand Du Plessis has suggested a Tweet-up in Greenside, Gauteng around 28 May 2010.
Cafe Sofia in Greenside has graciously offered to host the next Tweet-up in Johannesburg and make it a really special and memorable event. (They make great tapas and cocktails
)
I thought that it might be nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of Sandton and try out a new venue.
Thoughts on the venue?

I won’t lie – I’m keen to see boobs and National Cleavage Day is one day where men have a license to stare… Ok not really but you know what I mean!
I believe that the Manhattan night-club in Rivonia is doing their bit for National Cleavage Day with a decent party.
Any other suggestions from the Bundublog community for suggested parties around South Africa?

For those looking to network a bit, don’t forget the Tweet-Up in Johannesburg tonight at the Mythos Greek Restaurant in the Atholl Mall in Sandton.
Event starts at 7:30 and if the last one is anything to go by, this one is going to be really good with 73 people having RSVP’d.
FSEListings.com has sponsored the food platter, FSE Listings is new to South Africa, specializing in qualifying companies to list on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and raise capital in Europe.
The team at Knowledge Brokers International will sponsor the first drink and will be supplying a new networking tool called the positive energy cards. The Energy Cards are used in corporate environments to break the ice, promote positivity, and give focus to your day. We will be giving away a few packs of the cards as door prizes.
In addition, a copy of the book Sociable, a new social media guidebook written by Author Shane Gibson will be given away. This is a must read for tweeters.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Ryan Gibson – details here – http://www.meetup.com/Tweet-ups/calendar/12429523/
